Atlantia In-Game Progress

Hello, now my goal is creating in game properties. Today I created some maps and linked it. Now we have 20 maps total *lol* :D this is my design about map in atlantia, I hope game master would follow this base design.

This is my basic request for base map, example if you see a town then you can make more than 1 town (even 10 town I don’t care) and combined it with small forest or mountain or cave etc. Use your imagination to make a big map :D don’t worry I will fix and added some if I think your design is bored.

I will try to make 1-3 maps each day to make this game playable in the future.  Once game playable it’s time to advertise this game since not to much people know about it. Item, magic, store, quests, bank, and NPC’s are set. We can easy setup it in just seconds, just follow the link in admin panel and set their properties.

Atlantia Online, New Client and Development Progress

After 4 days working on fixed founded bug and add new features atlantia online new client is now ready to download from download page. You can download and try it. But right now the game is not playable it’s still needed more maps and settings for item, quest, monster, etc to make it more reals like an commercial game *lol*. I hope we can update properties in game as soon as possible. What new on this version?

Bug Fixed

  • Item and Spell properties causes RTE on client side.
  • Banking system properties causes RTE on client side.
  • Shop properties causes RTE on client side.
  • Sprites limit on scrollbar.
  • Speech limit on scrollbar.
  • NPC limit on scrollbar.
  • Magic Sound limit on scrollbar.
  • Looping Music. (This features save my day from big filesize)

New Features

  • Working Quest (You won’t bored in game)
  • Advanced weather (No rain, snow, or whatever will show inside building)
  • Sprites and another graphics (All now precision on their location, no more glitch!)
  • Form in top another form (Critical form will not go away from your screen again, this not done 100% yet since I need to uploading new client soon as possible)
  • Better GUI to navigate inside the game  (Graphic User Interface)
  • Smaller graphic and music filesize.
  • Much new sound and music.
  • Banking (you can save item, money still in development)

In development

  • Board system
  • New packet
  • User history page (ex: married to someone, born in bla bla bla, etc)
  • Money system
  • Re-cleaning the code and optimized it.

This new client supported for Windows XP (Home/Professional), Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Linux (unsupported). For Windows XP user you don’t have to change anything just run the install shield, follow the instruction and you’re done :)

For vista and Windows 7 user all you need is just TURN OFF your UAC and run the installer as ADMINISTRATOR after that run the atlantia installer. Once installation done you can set your UAC back to ON again. Follow images below for references, I tested it on windows 7 professional 32Bit.

For linux user you can try this method but I’m not guarantee this will works.

  • Get WINE.
  • Run the installer program.

If after you run the instaler programs not working try this step:

  • Get this files from internet: cmcs21.ocx, mswinsck.ocx, RICHTX32.OCX, TABCTL32.OCX, and dx7vb.dll, Register it.
  • Get this font from internet: CWEBL.ttf, Ernest.ttf, wendy.ttf, and wingding.ttf.

Please remember linux is unsupported from this project so if you fail on it don’t blame me :P

That’s the update, another article will posted in next few days.  I need more game master that willing to create minimum 1 (one) map each day in atlantia online to help me make this game more playable as soon as possible. If you’re interesting and your age over 18+ you can talk to me in the game.

Bug and Progress for Atlantia Online

Here is the progress. After some test Atlantia online with friends finally here is the bug we found.

  • Item and Spell properties causes RTE on client side. (fixed)
  • Banking system properties causes RTE on client side. (fixed)
  • Shop properties causes RTE on client side. (fixed)
  • Sprites limit on scrollbar. (fixed)
  • Speech limit on scrollbar. (fixed)
  • NPC limit on scrollbar. (fixed)

If you found another bug fell free to reported it, from game client -> user panel -> bug reports. This will help us to make better game client without bug on it.

What I’m working right now:

  • Creating better attack graphic so when players attack it’s looks like real attack not movement.
  • Setting MAP and NPC’s.
  • Make better GUI for Mini-MAP, FPS, Player Chat, Bank, Store.
  • Implementing some core function such as scripted item and scripted NPC’s.
  • Add advanced weather system so it’s not global weather. It’s not funny when in room you have rain drops *lol*.
  • Change annoying bot sound *lol*.

Be patient, once this done I will upload new client file. Right now if you want to test the game just download the file and run it. Have fun.. ^^

Atlantia Online Version is Ready

Atlantia online version is ready for public. Server will be running 24/7 and I hope you can invite your friends to try this game. Please welcomed my friend Dylan Richard as game master, he will creating some map and configuration. Of course I will help him to creating map and customization, but right now my focus is on creating better client.

If you want to try out Atlantia online you need to download this client. I tested this installer on windows XP, so if you have problem on another operating system like vista or windows 7 you just need library files (find it on internet). Have fun everyone ^^

What I have done on this new client?

  1. Fixed background music and sound (wrong programing).
  2. Better GUI, but of course I will edit it to make GUI more efficient in the future.
  3. Recompile all graphics including tiles, characters, and animation.
  4. Add some music and sound.

What I plan for the next version?

  1. Community board, just like bulletin board for hunting, news, rules, etc.
  2. Married system, I would like to make  this game more sociable, each player can married in game LOL (even just in game).
  3. Optimized the code and maybe add some new features.

If you’re asking for engine credits. This engine based on chaos engine build in year 2007. I have done a lot of modification in graphics ans code also fixed bug I found on this engine, now it’s licensed under my name but of course I give credits for chaos engine as base. That’s for now, have fun everyone :)
